Hollywood and the Dystopian Future

What do our current blockbuster movies think the future is going to look like? I break it down into five themes looking at over 80 films spanning close to 100 years:

1) Mankind is wiped out by a disease or war.

2) Totalitarian entities take over.

3) They involve robots or aliens, or if they are “human.”

4) A journey into space, or the unknown.

5) Protecting someone very, very important.
