Naturally, people can be wary of leaving the comfort zone formed by their repertoire of hard skills. Flexibility is an important soft skill, inasmuch as it demonstrates an ability and willingness to acquire new hard skills, and an open-mindedness to new tasks and new challenges.
Working at spectrum talking on the phones with people that may be made at the company most of them would not yell at you. However, some might so you would have to use the soft skills to work through the call to make the customer feel better and to let them know that you are with them to help them solve the problem. We always had to use soft skills to help the customer because we could see what they were seeing. Hard skills were secondary skills that we used which kind of made me mad because I was always used to using my hard skills then soft skills.
